Hi bedazzle,

To Batu Caves is very easy and is not that far from KL and you could finish visiting it within 3 hours. ( a day trip). Here is something for your to read.

As for the fireflies, Kuala Selangor it is better for you to take tour guide to this place as it is easy and let hectic.

Hey thanks.

I%26#39;m looking for 1 day trips or 2 day overnight trips. My boyfriend has been working in KL for the past 2 years and it%26#39;s getting bored to just go shopping everytime we%26#39;re free. Thinking of exploring other areas since it%26#39;s cheaper to travel within m%26#39;sia.

Hi again,

Since your bf is already familiar with KL then I would suggest that you take a trip to Langkawi, Pangkor Island, Cherating (Pahang), Terengganu or Kelantan for a new experience. It would a wonderful trip!

Hi, a nice serene place offering opportunity to enjoy quiet moments, and little travelling time from KL is a hill station, known as Fraser%26#39;s Hill.

In fact, enroute to Fraser%26#39;s Hill, can stop at Batu Caves, before turning into the road leading to Kuala Kubu Baru.Takes about 2 hours to the peak.

Alternatively, with the new East Coast Expressway, the ocean at Cherating beckons a call, with a journey of around 3 hours.

Does your boyfriend have a car? With a car its much easier.

If not, does your bf%26#39;s friends have a car? Can also make use of that.

Are you Singaporean? These are some of the things I think you might find interesting -

Kuala Selangor fireflies - should be evening/night trip starting with a visit to Kuala Selangor town then riverside for seafood then go see fireflies when its dark.

Trolak Hot Springs - Day trip. If you are adventurous, can combined that with a cave hike in Gua Tempurung. There are different levels of difficulty but the one I like is the 3 hour guided trek/climb.

Fraser%26#39;s Hill - Overnight. Relaxing, cool. Not bad food too.

Port Dickson- seaside, but only so-so waters and beaches. Nearest beach from KL

Genting - Have you been there lately? Lots of changes and new hotels and theme parks.

Berjaya Hill Resort + Elephant Scantuary. Can be combined with Genting.

Most of these places however require 1-2 hours of travel by road.
