Land Travel Options KT -> Dungun -> Cherating -> Kuantan

Hi,

Sorry if this question should be elsewhere but there seems to be more local experts active on the KL forum than on the east coast forums. We are travelling thru Malaysia + Singapore (from Australia) over a period of 2 weeks. Done this before in yr woderful country, so this time we are visiting places outside of the big cities. We have based our accommodation choices on the great info on this forum (eg we are booked into KL Traders, Hotel Puri, Tanjong Jara + Impiana Cherating so far). We would like some recommendations on travel between Kuala Tererengganu and Kuantan. I unfortunately assumed that there would be rental cars available for one way hire between KT and Kuantan. We are flying from KL to KT on Air Asia (7am flt) and flying out of Kuantan (to Penang) on FireFly. I need to be able get a car to self-drive from KT to Dungun and then from there to Cherating and leave at Kuantan airport at end. I haven%26#39;t asked them yet - but does anyone know if PingAnchorage will do a one way car hire? We prefer self-drive to outstation taxi because it would be nice to stop en route whereever we liked. If we can%26#39;t do that what coach options are available ? Terima Kasih

Have you checked with Avis, Hertz, Mayflower...etc there are many car rental agencies here. They can prob arrange for a car there but the service charge may be steep.

Sounds good Vincent, I%26#39;ll contact you shortly. If all goes well I am going to post a trip report so this will be a pretty good advert for you for the future . Thanks !!

No offence to vincent, but do check if the operator is licensed car rental agency in case something happens.

Maybe Vincent can leave his business address and land line phone no. down.

Sure I will check things out . Will let forum members know how this works out after our travel in July. I was born in Malaysia many years ago so do know different people have different ';chari makan '; techniques but so far Vincent sounds legit. I%26#39;ll be careful ......
