Have you considered the catamaran. No check in times/departure lounges/baggage limitations etc ...... does not take any longer overall, its cheaper and more fun .... and just as convenient when you arrive in Kuah.

This is a link to the New Straits Times, MAS said last year that they would operate this route again this year.

Last time we did this it was around 54GBP.

You can try the new %26#39;community airline%26#39; Firefly, wholly owned by Malaysia Airlines. I think it is no frill but haven%26#39;t used it myself. They start service in early April with two (ex-MH) Fokker 50. For now, you have to ring a %26#39;hotline%26#39; to book as their online booking system is not up and running yet.
