Weather beginning of June

I am thinking of going back to The Datai at the beginning of June (went early April 2006 for 2 weeks) and want to know if the weather is likely to be similar to our previous trip ie. sunny during the day then pours with rain for about an hour early evening? If it is likely to rain throughout the day this would really spoil our holiday and we probably wouldn%26#39;t go. Any ideas?

Its very unlikely that it will rain all day, it does happen, but it is rare.

The weather on Langkawi is odd, its a small island and it does not rain at exactly the same time or even the same day over the whole area.

From personal experience June is an ok month to go, jan/feb are usually the very dry.

I was in Kuah for the month of April last year to, I do remember some very heavy downpours. June was far better.

We were in Langkawi to get married last June and the weather was generally excellent - even on the wedding day when it was raining in the morning it cleared up quickly and was sunny the rest of the day - there was a storm in the distance in the evening but the Datai staff were ready with umbrellas for the beach dinner just in case.

Going back this year in June too and hoping it will be much the same - certainly I%26#39;d recommend going for it.

We have just returned from the Datai after spending a week there. Our first day it rained all morning but following that we had a superb week with glorious sun, rain at night every now and again and one particularly bad night.

The staff at the Datai did remark a few times that we were very lucky as usually at this time they had a lot more rain but recently the weather has been a bit ';bizarre';....global warming spreading its effects maybe??

I%26#39;m sure you will be fine in June, rain is to be expected anywhere tropical but I would say you would be hugely unlucky if you had days and days of rain.
