You need to have a look at AirAsia website, they operate along the same lines as EasyJet, so if you book well in advance you should be able to get a good deal.

Taxi from LCCT to KLCC should be around 70/100RM depending on which type of transport you opt for. There is also a bus that goes into KL, think the charge is 10RM.

Hi gazf,

From your hotel which is on Tanjung Bungah to Penang International Airport, taxi costs is under RM28.00.

A low cost carrier will be in reference to AirAsia, which ply direct routes from Penang into its terminal-LCC in Sepang. AirAsia%26#39;s fares are not fixed, and fares are dependent on time of booking-the earlier the cheaper.

Only a word of caution, on time performance are still below par, though last month, they attained a on time performance of over 83%, nevertheless, I advise as contigency, to arrive back to your port of disembarkation a day earlier.

Upon arrival at AirASia terminal-LCC (LCC-low cost carrier-which is about 20kms away from the main terminal of KLIA), there are taxi and buses available.

Taxi operates on fixed coupon price, i.e. purchase a coupon from the counter as you exit from customs-a fare into KL is RM61.60 on their budget category taxi.

Two bus companies operates shuttle buses into KL Sentral-one is by AirAsia themselves, where the one way fare is RM9.00/person, whereas another is the Aerobus for RM8.00/person.

RM9.00 is around GBP1.31.

To avail yourself of AirAsia, at times low fares, go to their website and you are able to make an ebooking with secured credit card payment.

Just a thought-you may wish to cut short your stay in Penang, though I understand it is on a package deal, however if you are able to make some changes, it is worthwhile to pay a visit to Langkawi-beaches over at this island are much better than in Penang. There are ferry from Penang(at Port Swettenham) to Langkawi, which takes about 2.5-3 hours. Check also if Malaysian Airlines%26#39;s community airline-FireFly does Penang-Langkawi route.

To get to Batu Ferringhi from your hotel will take around 10-13minutes distant by car.

Just to update the above, the taxi from Tanjung Bungah to Penang airport is no longer RM28. It%26#39;s more like RM40 +.

yes Gasman, I paid rm48 for that journey and that was about a year ago, and after fierce haggling down of the price.

If you contact the hotel direct, they will arrange a taxi to meet you, costs 50myr.

a lot less hassle.
