Penang is called Pulau Pinang on their web page.

Bear in mind its a long journey, almost 600km, and you will be tired when you reach Malacca in the morning.

Its not difficult to get from KL to Meleka too, it all depends on how you want to travel.

In terms of distance and sequence, you will pass KL before you reach Malcca if you travel south from Penang.

Hi,

There is at least one bus between KL to Melaka every hour from 6am to 10 pm. So it is very regular. You can buy your ticket on the spot except for Friday and Sunday night.

Melaka is very compact, you can see within one day. Now, there is even a RM2 city hop on and off bus and RM5 city wide bus. You can buy those tickets in Melaka .

You can purchase you Penang to Melaka bus when you arrive in Penang. There is no internet booking for that.

If you want to go to KL first, you can book at the aeroline bus but they are the first class coach, so it is more expensive than normal bus which is fine too.

Thank you both for your advice!

So is it possible to take the night bus from Penang to KL, then KL to Melaka, and then night bus from Melaka to Singapore?

I want to avoid the trains and stick to coach...

Thanks again and looking forward to your advice.

Hi ,

The most comprehensive bus schedules available are here even though it is still not always up to date.

Penang to KL is 5.50 hours, you may arrive too early or too late in KL though.

KL to Melaka is 2.5 hours. Melaka to Singapore is around 4.5 hours.

Trains are not a good option in Malaysia as they are slow and prone to delays.
