family of 4 + late checkout

We are on our way to UK from Aus - stopover is to provide a break for kids (8 %26amp; 14). We arrive at 10 pm and have a connecting flight the following day at 11 pm.

Ideally would like 4/5 star near shopping that allows late check out. Are there any hotels that will:

- accomodate 4 in a room

- or alt provide second room at half price

what is the latest checkout - it is too optimistic to hope for 6 pm.

Hi Sid,

If you would like the hotels near shopping center, I would suggest Westin Hotel, Ritz Carlton or Park Royal Hotel. All these hotels are located in ';Golden Triangle'; area. But you still have to check with the hotels as each hotel has their own policies . For 2 adults %26amp; 2 kids, hotel may let you share the room together, maybe you need to take an extrabed or rollwaybed for a charge of course. Since you are coming in August, please bear in mind it is the middle east season and hotels might fully booked. Suggest to make booking in advance.

Check out time is 12 noon, maybe hotel could extend 2pm to 3 pm latest without charge, if later, they might charge you half day rate till 6pm. But still, it still depends on the hotel. Hope this helps, cheers.

Hi sid,

Hope u enjoy ur trip to KL. Cheers.

Hi Sid,

If you are arriving that late, I will suggest accomodation somewhere near the main transportation hub, KL Sentral, like Hilton. Like Ray suggested, you can ask for extra beds but you may have to request directly from the hotel at the time of reservation. They have king sized beds to accomodate 3 so you probably will have to ask for 1 extra bed.

I believe Hilton has free direct transfer shuttles from KLIA where you exit the arrival hall (or you may have to arrange with Hilton when you make the reservation). Saw the uniformed drivers from Hilton waiting there the last time I arrived.

Beware of taxi touts if you don%26#39;t want to be bankrupt without reason.

Otherwise, you can take the KLIA Express from KLIA to see the green view of the city from the express train, takes around 28 mins to arrive at KL Sentral, about RM35 per person. Hilton is just a road crossing away from KL Sentral.

The shopping hubs near there are Midvalley and Chinatown. Since you have only less that 5 hours of shopping, I would suggest Midvalley if you like intense Malaysian style of shopping ie. no bargaining and reasonably priced stuff.

However, if you like the shopping with bargaining then make sure you have a local person with you and go to Chinatown. We call it Petaling Street.

Ray%26#39;s recommendation of the Golden Triangle is great provided you have at least 2 days to spare, as you need time to get there from the airport and back. With 2 kids in tow, you would not want to get into a row with the taxi driver over the exhorbitant charge of night taxi travelling to the said hotels. Just a thought.

Oh yes, another reason for hotel near the hub. You can ask Hilton to hold your baggages when you leave the hotel (for shopping) after the check-out and take them back just as you come back from the shopping. You can walk straight away cross the road back to the hub and hop into the 28 min ride back to the airport.
