we are budget travelers who would like to spend some time on this island, but the guidebooks are not really telling too much.

If you have been and can share your info, please help.

1/ Accommodation (not the all inclusive, posh resorts, please :)

2/ swimming, snorkeling, kayaking options

3/ what else to do there?

We%26#39;re back from our trip and I%26#39;d like to share from our experience:

we stayed on Mabul island at the longhouse, booked by Scuba Junkie.

Basic for 50ringit per night/person included 3 filling meals; tea, cofee and drinking water 24 hrs. Clean with shower and western toilet.

Very nice and attentive staff.

Much better option to Semporna IMHO not mentioning the nice sunsets right from the porch.
