Carcosa Sri Negara is the best, expect to pay Ritz London prices, or not far off it. Don%26#39;t cut corners, this is THE place. You won%26#39;t regret it .

Fabulous !

Sky Tower ..... good views, food average .... overpriced.

Don%26#39;t be silly...50 GBP will get you 2 seats at the Carcosa%26#39;s Drawing room and some spare change to take taxi back to where you come from. This is Malaysia, not London, everything here is priced reasonably as it should.

However your wanting of high teas is open to wide interpretations and choices, as we consider late afternoon local fares , fusion fares, international buffet to be high tea as well, which is widely available in the hotels. If English scones and sandwiches are your kind of thing, then it%26#39;s the Carcosa, btw it%26#39;s called Afternoon Tea, I thought you should know better.

There is a chain restaurant called Winter Warmers, that try to feign English savories in their outlets, it%26#39;s far cheaper of course, but I have never tried it, given the variety of food choice in Malaysia, having scones is the last thing on my mind.

If you have a night or two to spare, and you%26#39;re desperately needing to experience what your cou ntry%26#39;s erstwhile colony can offer in English gentility, then head to the Cameron Highlands, where the ye old smokehouse, Camera Highland resort and the Lakehouse will have such offerings aplenty...

where would you recommend for buffet/high tea which also has a good selection of local foods?

The sky tower as you called it, is actually Menara KL and the resturant called Seri Angkasa. The food is very plain buffet fare. In my opinion its no better than economy class airline food. The view is great, but not the food.

We don%26#39;t currently have a fantastic resturant with great city views, unlike equinox or blu in Singapore.

Hi June, I%26#39;m not the buffet guy... but if you like variety... the lemon garden cafe at the Shangri La is worth a try....with local and italian fares
