Visa & departure tax question

Hi,I%26#39;m travelling to KL (from Australia) for the first time in a couple of weeks. Can anyone please tell me:

- do I have to pay for a visa on arrival? If so, how much is it, and do you have to pay in Ringgit, or could it be paid in Australian dollars?

- is there a departure tax on flying out of KL? If so, how much is it?

Sorry if these are silly questions - the only other place I%26#39;ve been is Bali, which does charge for Visa on Arrival and a departure tax, so I thought I better check to see if it%26#39;s the same in Malaysia too.

Thanks!

Visa %26amp; departure tax question

Hi,

As a Brit there is no visa to pay for on arrival, however not sure as from Australia, I don%26#39;t think so.. am sure someone will clarify that one! - check with your foreign office.

As for departure tax, this is usually included in your ticket so there is nothing to pay when you leave....

J

Visa %26amp; departure tax question

I have never seen anyone paying for a visa on arrival at KLIA. If you qualify for visa on arrival they are normally free. Flying out of Aussie the taxes should be included in the purchase price of your ticket.

Hi Bazngiz,

Malaysia and Singapore airports have long not collected departure taxes from passengers (collected during ticketing) followed this year by Thailand. Elsewhere in South East Asia, it is still a common practice.

No visa is required for Aussie.

Thank you all for your responses - much appreciated. More money for shopping now!
