Sun?

Hi - we are arriving in Langkawi next Thursday ( first time!!) vey excited but just wondering what the weather is like at the moment? There are heavy shower symbols on the forecasts, dont mind a bit of rain but hoping for some good days as well. Can any of the Langkawi experts advise?

Many thanks !

Sun?

Don%26#39;t be deceived by the heavy shower symbols on the forecasts. Weather forecasts in the tropics are usually boring - its either rain or shine, daily low and high temps don%26#39;t vary considerably. And the temp feels-like factor is always higher by many degrees, e.g. 90F reading may feel like 100F.

If there is a downpour, usually it doesn%26#39;t last a long, long time. In fact, it might be even better. In the tropics, the heat builds up from sunrise and rain in the afternoon gives you a pretty pleasant evening. Tropical passing showers are typical. This time of the year is generally okay. Langkawi is a year-round resort island with no closure. Enjoy.

Sun?

Agree with the above advice. Its very rare for it to rain all day on Langkawi. Only drawback is it can become overcast for long periods, this might be a blessing though as the cloud keeps off the blistering sun.

Would not worry about the heavy cloud symbols, it can rain any day at any time of year.

Hope you enjoy Langkawi. First time ?

Yes first time. Really looking forward to it!!!

Thanks for the info about the weather - I%26#39;m sure it will beat the current conditions in the UK!

Im sure you%26#39;ll love Langkawi.

Can tell you June last year was very good, you might get a downpour once a day 30/60 mins. The norm is late afternoon. Once the humidity builds up enough it rains, then it clears and its back to business as usual.

Its not going to spoil your visit. Its a relief to get some rain, everything smells so fresh !

One week to go.

Bon Voyage.
