Shopping: KUL or Bali?

We are going to both places during our trip, which is the best for bargains and variety? Where should we do the most shopping? Mainly interested in teenage clothing (15 and 14 year ol) and baby cloths (12 month old).

Many thanks.

Shopping: KUL or Bali?

It has to be KL...Bali is a resort island...

Shopping: KUL or Bali?

hi, FOR BALI SHOPPING TRY THE FOLLOWING.

for clothes for a baby /toddler you can%26#39;t go past the department stores in Bali. Each year I get fantastic bargains and great quality clothes for my daughter.

try

';Matahari'; department store at Kuta square apart from their own fantastic brands you can get the cheapest big brand clothes here at a fraction of western prices. the shoes, socks and accessories, hair clips, sunglasses etc are also cheap. fixed prices good shopping.

also don%26#39;t miss ';Ramayana'; department store at Dennpasar.

I buy lots of clothes at these 2 places for my kids. there are lots of clothes, watches, jewellery etc etc. My teenage daughters liked this place. there is an amusement/ games area upstairs. also a discount shop selling almost every item for 5000rp to 10000rp. there is a pizza hut downstairs and many other shops cheap massages etc on higher levels including supermarket. a good place for almost everything at cheap fixed prices.

The Matahari has beautiful girls dresses. compared to the price I pay in Australia these shops are so cheap.

My teenage girls didn%26#39;t buy much clothing in Bali at the department stores (but there is lots to choose from for them also) but they got some things from the many locals selling rip off billabong, roxy etc very cheap. the department stores sell really cheap shoes.

there are some surf shops selling real brands (one in Kuta JL Legian) but these were the same prices as Australia.

there is a shop called Kuta kids in bali you might like to check it out. never really bought much here though.

If you are in Nusa Dua there is also a big department store here i think its called ';Tragia'; lots of clothes, baby, shoes etc etc it%26#39;s on the by pass road easy to find, KFC store next door just before entering the tourist accomodation area of Nusa Dua.

If you are in Sanur try Hardy%26#39;s supermarket ,upstairs is full of handicrafts, sarongs etc.

there is a new department store called Discovery shopping mall at Tuban south kuta near waterbom park. a little more expensive but nice. a great bakery here.

Don%26#39;t miss going to ';Geneva'; between seminyak and kerobokan. JL Raya No. 100 Kerobokan. This is the place to shop. check this place out before you buy souveniers, handcrafts etc etc there are literally thousands of things to choose from at fixed prices but super cheap!!!!!!! Apart from household items, handicrafts etc my children bought lots of dress jewellery and trinkets and small gifts etc for themselves and their friends. Downstairs is all furniture check the higher floors.

Just ask a taxi to drive you to any of these places. there are other department stores especially in Denpasar just ask the locals for directions. if you want gold jewellery you will get lots in denpasar.

the art markets in ubud are nice and your kids would enjoy the monkey forest there.

cheap cd%26#39;s, dvd%26#39;s computer games. we get these in Kuta try the shops around the matahari, and market area.

I will be back in Bali in June and also in KL in July. take empty suitcases.

Thanks for all your advise, it will be very useful. It appears that Bali has a lot of variety available. As I was visiting both places I was wondering which would be the best to do the majority of shopping at!
