Hi,
We have a trip planned for the 31st May from LHR - KUL and than to vietnam for 2-3 weeks (lots of travelling around ), 10 days in Thailand and back home KUL to LHR.
Unfortunately my partner dislocated his collarbone a week ago and we have to change our plans last minute.
Instead of traveling around vietnam and thailand we are now thinking of staying in Malaysia for 2 weeks, a few days in BKK and end or trip in Koh samui. As we can%26#39;t travel around to much due to his injury we need some advise on where we should go in Malaysia. We are now looking for an easy and relax first 2 weeks in Malaysia. ( Beach resort with restaurants and lively nightlife nearby, nice hotel. Buget medium to high. Please help
Thanks
Wendy
last minute changes - help
Hi,
There is little or no nightlife in Malaysian beach islands. I think you could stay in KL for nightlife and shopping and Penang for sightseeing, food and bit of beach.

Good luck!
last minute changes - help
I sugggest you make it a 2 - 3 centre visit (I presume your partner can travel a bit) otherwise you will probably be bored stiff.
You are also going to have to find last minute accommodation and Langkawi has the greatest choice. We have just returned from a great holiday in Malaysia which involved
Flight to Langkawi
4 nights in Pantai Cenang - Casa Del Mar hotel
ferry to Penang
3 nights in E%26amp;O hotel
Ferry back to Langkawi
5 nights in Berjaya Resort Burau Bay
Flight to KL
If you really need to stay put for 2 weeks then stay in langkawi but I would still suggest at least a 2 centre holiday
The above hotels all take on-line bookings
The travelling was quite easy and the setting at each resort was quite different. A bit of nightlife in Penang but not in Langkawi
Good luck
For 14 days in Malaysia?. Good discovery.
5 days in Kuala Lumpur area. to cover Malacca and a bit of Cameron Highland. Busy but good night life
4 days in Redang Island. Very good Island to rest. Located in East Coast of Peninsular malaysia. reccomand for Berjaya Beach Resort. Purely relax. No good night life.
Other extra day. back to KL or drive down to Singapore for 2 to 3 days. You can travel by good express coach for only about RM50 per ways per person.
Hi if you come to Malaysia It is adviceable to go to Mulu. Although it is an adventure place. You still can go there to have a visit without doing any dangerous activity. Because Mulu is have the Biggest CAVE in this world and also have longest cave in southeast asia. There is a nice resort there called Royal Mulu Resort.
Worth to pay a visit!!
Stick with your original itinerary, get some good prescription pain killers. If you can travel around Malaysia then you can do the same through Thailand and Vietnam. Travel light !
Nite Life is severely limited in Malaysia. Quite good in KL but after that you%26#39;ll need to visit Georgetown in Penang.
Do NOT go to Langkawi for nightlife !
NiteLife and religion do not mix in most of Malaysia, Thailand is the place, Vietnam is fun !
admendment: if you reach Hanoi you must try to go for Water Puppet show. It is really famous. The ticket need to book 1 week before show. but last minute also can get with higher price. sometimes up to USD20 per show.
