Langkawi to Phuket.

Hi everyone, I am planning to visit Langkawi for 5 nights for the first time, and was wondering what was the easiest way to get there from Phuket. We are traveling from Melbourne Aus, to Phuket 12 nights then Langkawi for 5 nights, then onto Kuala Lumpur for 3 nights. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Langkawi to Phuket.

Julie,

If you want to fly you will need to go up to BKK then fly to Penang and then catch a ferry to Langkawi. Its a bit longwinded.

The easy way if you don%26#39;t mind coach/bus is to go to Phuket bus station, you can buy a ticket through to Satun (6 hrs). From there head down to the jetty and catch a ferry (2 a day).

Hi Julie, from Phuket, you can take a flight into Bangkok, and there is a direct flight from Bangkok into Langkawi, then from Langkawi, a direct flight into Kuala Lumpur.

Check the no frill airline-AirAsia for schedules and online booking.

Thank you for your reply.

I wouldn%26#39;t mind going by coach but hubby wont like that idea to much. I guess we%26#39;ll just have to think about it a bit more. I%26#39;d really love to visit Langwari. It looks so beautiful and relaxing. Especially after spending 12 days in Phuket.

Problem is Bangkok to Langkawi is not a daily service ! You%26#39;d need to take care with your timing.

How about Koh Samui as an alternative to Langkawi.

I think the new low-cost carrier, Fireflyz (unsure of the spelling), flies to Phuket from Penang, if I am right. It was launched a few weeks ago, based in Penang, a subsidiary of MAS, and uses Fokker planes. From Penang, you a take the 2-hour ferry journey.
