Kuala Lumpur in JULY

Hi,

Have always meant to post in these forums but never got around to doing it...

Anyway, with regards to Traders Hotel, you will be VERY pleased with it. I stayed there for 11 days in January and was very impressed. Rooms were excellent (pay a bit more for the view of the Twin Towers, definitely worth it), pretty spacious, all have good size Samsung LCD screens etc.

What is especially wonderful about this hotel is that the whole hotel is furnished with original contemporary art, no photos or prints etc, including in hallways and all the rooms.

The breakfast is also pretty good, with Chinese, Malay, Japanese and ';Western'; sections.

Service was impeccable, right down to the shuttle drivers who would take us to the twin towers (its free as well).

Anyway, hope this helps.

We were in KL Oct 2006 (and also SG) - be prepared for the HUMIDITY. Really, nothing can prepare u for it! It took us a day to acclimatise. We stayed @ the Melia which incl. a full buffet b/fast which was very very good and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

The hotel was well situated near a monorail station and various large malls. It was some distance (take a monorail and train) from the Twin Towers. We were able to walk to Bukit Bintang by going thru a couple of malls quite easily. There were plenty of food options and a night hawker market near by (frog soup anyone?). Suria KLCC is worth a look even if u dont like shopping and if you want to get to the Petronas towers viewing platform make sure u are queueing for tickets EARLY or you will miss out.

Morning...

Am based in KL and if you hav now booked Traders, you will most certainly enjoy your stay there. Very retro, funky, modern in design (although the modern art, in my opinion, doesn%26#39;t blend with the decor at all!)

The hotel is in a perfect location, very central, however isolated a little from train stations. The closest will be a walk through the convention centre to the twin towers at KLCC. Walking distance to Bukit Bintang shopping district.

Only 2 restauants, but ok, and a great bar on the roof.

Wouldn%26#39;t spend too much time shopping as it%26#39;s comparable to the rest of the world. Would recommend getting out there and seeing what KL and Malaysia have to offer. Dinner up KL tower, trip to the elephant sanctuary and help wash them in the river!! great fun, trip out to see the Fireflies, or to historical malacca, there really is a lot to see outside of the city.

Don%26#39;t waste time going up Petronas Twin towers, it%26#39;s a pain to get the tickets and you only get 5 minutes at a time of THEIR choice, head up KL Tower instead. It%26#39;s much taller and give you a 360 degree of the city below.

Enjoy your trip... and the humidity isn%26#39;t that bad!!! Just don%26#39;t do too much walking!!!

Hi!

My boyfriend and I will be in KL in late July for a couple of nights on our way to a romantic honeymoon in Langkawi. We will be stayting at the Renaissance and are looking forward to soak in the sights and life in KL, going to a night market, eating some delicious unpronounceable food at the hawkers%26#39; and ... well, for now that%26#39;s all we have got planned, but we%26#39;ll get around to it.

We%26#39;re thinking about Batu Caves as well.

NIght life and hawker food? try Jalan Alor at Bulit Bintang. Ask around if you are not sure where it is. Its rather easy to find. somewhere near to KFC, which is opposite BB Plaza. Actually, the road leading to Alor is sandwiched between this 24 hours chinese restaurant and KFC... walk right in and you will find an entire street of hawker food awaits you..
