Mutiara Burau - Any comments please.

Hello. Again I find myself on this forum posing yet another question about accommodation :-)

The Mutiara Burau Bay Resort looks really nice and with Air Asia I can get return airfares, accommodation with breakfast in 2 superior cabanas for MR3000 for 6 of us for 5 nights. This seems a bargain.

I checked out the reviews on this forum and it seems to get a good wrap.

Am interested to hear your thoughts. Thanking you all once again.

Kind regards

Denise

Mutiara Burau - Any comments please.

Its a very nice resort, the location is beautiful. I know you are travelling with kids, they will love it. Lots of space to run around in and no passing traffic.

Not sure what a superior cabana is, we rent a family cabana, suitable for four adults. They are very comfortable and spacious, they also allow you to rent extra matress if needed.

Traveling with four kids aged 14 yrs to 18 mths, this is a good place for you, easy to watch them, unlike Aseania.

Big wide open spaces, kiddies pool area, relaxed atmosphere.

You can%26#39;t go wrong as the kids will love it.

Lots of jungle too !

If you prefer something more private and traditional, I recommed you browse the above link. Its a new resort, with a more traditional Langkawi flavour. Very nice accommodation and the owners are at hand, unlike the bigger resorts.

This is the place to stay before it becomes the new Bon Ton.

Just a thought ! Good for kids as well.

Thank you very much for your help.

I have booked the Muteria Superior Cabana%26#39;s.

If they are not suitable, hopefully at the time they may let us upgrade to a bigger one.

I can now sleep peacefully at night knowing this part of the trip has been organised. Phew ....... :-)

Have a wonderful time. Hope you manage to do a trip report when you get back home.

Do try the Seashell Cafe at Mutiara, good food and an excellent spot for lunch. You can also walk along the beach and have lunch/dinner at Berjaya.

Don%26#39;t forget to check out Oriental Village, 10 mins walk from Mutiara and also Telaga Harbour 5 mins by taxi.

You can check on www.mutiarahotels.com

Superior is familyroom and has space for 2 adults and 1 child

Have a great time and you%26#39;re always welcome for a cup of coffee

or....you have my address!

I%26#39;ve been browsing through the hotel reviews, and seems that the general comments about this hotel is that the rooms are pretty old, and bathrooms are ';disgusting';...

How true is it? Has it undergone any renovation recently??

Thanks!

yue,

The Mandarin Oriental it is not, but I%26#39;d say its far from disgusting. Perhaps you should go and inspect the property yourself. Thats the problem with forums ........ you never know untill you look with your own eyes !

yue,

Try The Datai, Andaman or Four Seasons. You don%26#39;t even say if you intend to visit Langkawi !

Ya I am visiting Penang on 21-22 Jun for work. Then will be flying to Langkawi for 23-25 Jun. I have browsed Mutiara Burau website and it looks pretty nice. Reasonably charged while nice sea view and beach. But a couple of reviews here commented the rooms are pretty old and the bathrooms are not fantastic.

Thats why I am seeking for more comments.

And I am also worried about Firefly. Will the flight be delayed or even canceled last minute ?
