Weather in Malaysia

I have just book to go to Malaysia on the 10th June for 14 nights.

I arrive in KL on the 11th and plan to book several internal flights with Air Asia today/tomorrow.

I thought of staying two nights in KL, few nights in Penang...maybe while in Penang a ferry trip to Langkawi and few nights is Sabah. Are these places worth while visting?

Please can some one tell me where I should stay (looking for 4/5 star hotels with a bit of night life, nice beaches etc) and what the weather is like in these places.

Many thanks!

Hi Karima22,

Since your questions cover too much scope, nobody has helped to answer your questions here.

You probably want to stay at least three nights in KL since you have a long flight from the UK and the first day is mostly to get used to the weather and get over jetlag. Besides the usual must see in KL such as Twin Tower, KL Tower, China Town and Bukit Bintang, enjoy cheap 4/5 star hotel stay and sample some Malaysian food

Crown Plaza, Park Royal, Renaissance for 4 stars and Mandarin Orientals, Regent and Ritz Carlton for 5 stars

While in KL, take a day trip or stay over night in Malacca if you are into historic buildings and small town feel.

Penang is famous for its colonial buildings similar to that of Melaka but also hawker food which is one of the best in South East Asia. You can stay few nights there in either George Town area or Batu Ferringgi. Check out TA hotel reviews to see what you like. Penang Forum has many such recommendations too.

Langkawi is good place for relaxing and enjoy the quiet beach. 4 / 5 hotels within easy reach of ';night life'; will be Pelangi Beach Resort and Francipani. Alternatively Westin on the other side is close to Kuah Town.

If you like crystal clear water and white soft beach, June is a good time to visit the east coast of Peninsula Malaysia. Go for Perhentian but choose only good resort such as Tuna Bay in Perhentian Besar or Impiani Watercolours in Perhentian Kecil which has beach party in Long Beach every night.

Sabah has good beach such as those in Rasa Ria with day trip snorkelling option to TAR marine park and serious diving in the east coast of Sipadan /Mabul. Wild life is also abundant in the whole state and the Kinabalu Park and Mountain is accessible from Kota Kinabalu. You can spend at least a week in Sabah if you want to enjoy beach and wild life.

June is the dry or hot season in most part of Malaysia.
