Corus

I will be staying in Corus on 08/06 - 10/06. may I know if there is any sales in KL. I want to visit SEED and FOS store, anyone knows if there is any SEED or FOS store around the hotel area? Any good eating places you can recommend around the area as well? Btw how is Corus Deluxe room is like?

Thanks!

Corus

The Malaysian Mega Sales starts on 16th June and ends in early Sept so looks like you will miss it by a week. Corus is a stone%26#39;s throw away from KLCC , Avenue K and Ampang Park so plenty of food courts in the nearby malls. I guess the nearest FOS would be the one in City Square, about 10 minutes walk in the direction of Ampang Park. Not sure if there is a Seed store in KLCC.

Corus

Hi, The Mega Carnival Sales starts on June 16 until Sept 02.

For SEED, try department stores of ';ISetan'; and ';Parkson Grand'; in Suria KLCC(i.e. the shopping mall below the Petronas Twin Towers), and also in the store by the name of ';PDI'; on the concourse level (Ampang Mall) of Suria KLCC. PDI carries all the brands sold by the Padini Company-e.g. Padini, Miki, Seed, Vincci

There is a good English restaurant housed in a bungalow, where its interior resembles an English cottage house- called ';The Smokehouse';- from your hotel lobby exit, turn right, and before Avenue K (a chic shopping centre, where there is also an underpass to KLCC LRT station and also leading into Suria KLCC), there is an attendant lane off Jalan AMpang (the main road along Corus Hotel),c alled Lorong Mayang, and ';Smokehouse'; is on your left.

The Japanese restaurant in Corus-';Komura'; is also good-not too expensive Japanese meals.

Hi guys, thanks for the valuable information. I suppose some shops do have presales promotion ya?

Another question. I would like to get to the twin tower for a look and I know that the morning is open to the public for a look. May I know where and how to get the free admission tickets? Please advise.

Thanks lots!

There is a SEED outlet in Isetan Department Store on the Concourse level of KLCC.

Hi, to get to the Skybridge of Petronas Twin Towers, suggest she goes to Tower II early in the morning, counter opens at 0830hrs, queue to get a ticket slot for a designated time.; then she can return back to Corus for her breakfast or take a morning stroll around KLCC park.

The SKybridge is closed on Monday.

Only limited tickets are available per day-something like1,320 free tickets.

Suggest, when you check in in Corus, enquire with reception or their concierge if they do offer picking up the tickets for you-it will safe you the time of queuing up--you could email or fax ot Corus prior to your trip to enquire on this, so that you can fine tune your trip itinerary to optimise your time schedules during your trip.

Hello Vinvin,

My advice that Corus really needs some updating work in terms of facilties / rooms, I can say it is quite run down. Think twice if you want to stay there.

You can try Traders / Impiana KLCC as they are near to the shopping centers as well.

Hopefully this will help. Thanks.

Do you just want to shop around your hotel area? Why go Corus? Did you book your package with Aeroline coach service? I would suggest why not try www.Airebus.net package which takes you to Boulevard Hotel, Mid Valley, pick up point at Asia hotel (opposite Newton MRT).

Do check out the rate, internet rate is RM238nett and various a few RM depending on which site you looking at. Other site will be more expensive. I think there is a FOS in Mid Vally, check directory of www.midvalley.com.my

Come September, Garden court will be open, with retailers like Isetan and Robinson there too. I am looking forward to my trip in Dec along with the MY Mega sale.... I wasa there last Dec too.

Thanks guys,

I have tried Impiana KLCC. It is really good. I just wanna try a different hotel this time and near the MTR as well. Any idea if there is a good seafood restaurant near KLCC or my hotel?

Then you%26#39;ll be disappointed with Corus. Hotel Maya or Traders if you want variety. Jln Imbi has a few Chinese restaurants.

Hi vinvin, a good seafood close to Corus, is De View in the Red House on Kia Peng. From Corus, it will take about 20minutes by walking.

In KL, it is LRT, MTR is in HK, whilst in Singapore, you know it. KL is not mass, but light, as only few coaches are deployed as some tracks are elevated, and not of wider track specfications.

Corus had been refurbished, it was formerly the Ming COurt hotel when at that time, its facade and interior was not too appealing. Have a good Japanese restaurant(';Komura';).

Also about 20minutes walk away, if you use Mayang Road, which is on the left if you face the hotel, you will come to Yap Kwan Seng road, where there is a popular seafood restaurant and also steamboat restaurant called ';restoran Stadium Negara';. Around this area are also few chic restaurants housed in bungalows, such as Munakata(Japanese), Bacco(Italian), Kallianees (kerala cusines), Restoran Kampung Pandan (famed for its fish head curry). On Mayang road itself is Smokehouse which serves traditional Engilish food with its ambience resembling an English cottage house.
