Ascott Hotel in KL

Hi to all! Just wanted to ask about the construction going on beside Ascott Hotel... is it still on going? Also, does anyone have any opinion regarding this hotel as compared to MiCasa? Thanks so much for your help!

Ascott Hotel in KL

Hi Mai a216,

The construction beside Ascott is still on going but it does not affect Ascott as it has completed the initial construction which tends to be noisiest.

Micasa is a bit out of the city center and the price and standard is not as good as Ascott which is newer.

Kumusta, construction as its tailend. If you are considering Ascott, though a reputable serviced apartment, but with the completed MNI Towers besides it, and the ongoing finishing on another serviced apartment next to Ascott, it is just getting too cramped over here; though this is at its tail end, there is an active ongoing construction going on behind Ascott.

If you are still going for Ascott brand-consider Somerset Bukit Ceylon, also developed and managed by the same company which handles Ascott.

Somerset BUkit Ceylon is much quieter, less hectic traffic, and walking distance to chic bars and restaurants in Changkat Bukit Bintang, and also to Bukit BIntang shopping district.

The vicinity of KLCC is just getting too cramped-every developer wants a piece of action in this prime land which fetches above RM1000psf.

Thanks for the input :) So it%26#39;s crowded huh? I am travelling with 2 kids, a 2 yr old and a 10 yr old. We need a 2 bedroom place and my criteria is that it must be clean and safe. Any other suggestions? SALAMAT!

Hi

I stayed at the Ascott for two week in November last year. The construction work that was going on did not bother us. The location of the hotel was good. I have posted a review of the hotel here on TA :-)

We just moved into the Ascott for a seven month stay, and the nearby construction (on the Petronas Towers side) is definitely noticeable. Last week they kept it between 8am and 10pm, but last night they were still pounding at 10:45, and started again this morning at 6:45. Maybe rooms on the other side are quieter?

Sadly, when they finish with that building, the nice view to the north will be totally obstructed.
