Ali's guesthouse

I will be in Penang next week. Putting up at Ali%26#39;s guesthouse. Anyone stayed here before ? Any reviews and advise?

Thank you

Ali's guesthouse

Hi, I have not stayed here before, but my driver has. It is set very close to the beach, in an attendant lane, just after Park Royal hotel.

It is also next to another guesthouse-Baba Nyonya-but Ali%26#39;s guesthouse is done up, in respect of exterior aesthetics, much better.

Just infront of these guest houses are several simple eateries serving local dishes and local burgers.

It is about 5-8 minutes distant by walking onto the main road. Just beside the attendant lane, is a local coffee house which serves simple breakfast-- local coffee, toast bread with a local concocted spread- ';kaya';.

The only drawback, in case you are driving there, is that there is no proper parking place--all park outside the rather narrow road, and below trees, which the next day, you may have to go for a car wash.

Thank you very much. Really appreciate it very much .

Kamini

The guest house is back off the main road, nearer to the beach than the road. Cheapest spot in the area. Some average local food, quite a few low end backpackers around here, visa run from Thailand.

Close to the mosque, so if you want quiet give it a miss ! If your religious, ideal !

There is better value guest houses in Georgetown.
