KLIA-Golden Triangle.

I have read all the posts on the transportation. Thank you for being so helpful and knowledgeable.

Reading the responses, I am a little concerned about getting a taxi in the arrivals hall and being apporached by hawkers. Do you think it will be a problem for me and my 3 other travellers to secure a airport taxi for 6-7 bags and 4 adults? I understand there is an airport taxi stand that you need to buy a voucher from first, then where do you go from there? What if a hawker leads us in the worng direction?

Also what is the procedure for the round trip? Will the company know to pick us up at the hotel at a specicfied time?

Thank you !

You get tickets for the airport Limo at ticket booths before you exit the sliding doors out of the secuirty area. So you won%26#39;t be hounded by the airport touts. The booths are just next to the sliding door and you can%26#39;t miss them.

Show the staff your luggage and they can help you size up your transport requirements. I think you will need a minivan or 2 limos.

Once you get the tickets, walk out the sliding door and go out of the meet/greet area. This is wear the touts will approach you and ask you Taxi Sir?...etc. Show them you already have a coupon and I suspect they won%26#39;t harrase you. Since you have a coupon, under no circumstances should you pay any more money for transport (unless your luggage cannot fit, then you need to go back into the terminal building to change the size of car or get an additional car).

Walk straight towards the glass doors that lead outside the terminal building. Immediately outside you will see the airport limos.

You can purchase a round trip ticket at the counters as well.

Hi rshigs, the counter for the taxi voucher is before the exit onto public arrival hall. You will be given two slips of the voucher(coupon)- hand one to the driver and the other as your receipt.

In view of the number of luggages and paxs, most probably you will be using a family van- a Renault Envirio. Do make it very very certain to the counter personnel of these number of luggages ( I have personally seen it happen to a couple- the husband went to the counter, but his wife/partner was distant away with the luggage trolley), and he bought a budget category taxi, then joined us in the taxi queue-the couple was refused usage of the budget taxi-as the budget category taxi boot, can only fit in a check in baggage and a hand luggage -due to the natural gas cylinder tank occupying the boot space.

In such circumstances, his earlier ticket is not refundable

So, do please ensure on this matter, and let this not happen to you.

After purchasing the voucher(coupon), you approach the sliding glass door, and you are now on the public arrival hall, where a portion is cordoned off by metal barriers, pass through these, go straight to approach the main exit door (there are several in rows),where above the exit door, is the sign for taxi rank, once you are greeted by the tropic weather-you will see rows of taxis, approach one of the staff close to the taxi rank (but do not hand your coupon-until you are told this is your taxi-make sure you keep one for yourself).

State your destination (and if you have been provided by the hotel with a fax and hotel address, that would also help-as sometimes pronunciation and tone of language may create communication problem amongst these drivers).

During the course of the journeys, should the taxi comes to any tolls, do not pay for it. the driver pays for it, and you should not also reimburse him.

As for getting a round trip, you can buy a return trip coupon at the counte(do make sure that return portion is treated like cash). A return trip ticket is less than twice of the price of a single trip. E.g. if single trip Family van from KLIA to KL is RM180.40, a return trip ticket should be less than RM360.80.

For the taxi to pick you up at a specified time, for the return trip, please get the hotel concierge to call them, and REMIND them, a day before your intended trip, then on that day itself, check again with hotel concierge if everything is in place (i.e. few hours before the specified time)- i.e. recorded in their log book, as concierge do work on shifts.

I advise on the day for the taxi return trip, give a buffer of 30 minutes, then use this 30 minutes to check again with hotel concierge if that airport taxi is on the way.

All this to minimise anxiety and stress levels.

Also have a contingency plan in place, should the airport taxi do not turn up.
