Berjaya Deluxe Chalets

We have booked two Deluxe Chalets at the Berjaya Resort in July. After reading some of the reviews I%26#39;m a bit concerned that the difference between Superior and Deluxe is that all the Deluxe Chalets are detached? As we are a family of five travelling we want to have an interconnecting door between our Deluxe Chalets - do they exist or am I going to be put into two Superior Rooms? Anyone stayed in two Deluxe Chalets with interconnecting doors? Unfortunately the Berjaya haven%26#39;t responded to my emails!

Berjaya Deluxe Chalets

Hi Subi Perth

I have stayed at the Berjaya five times and really enjoy the resort.

Not all Deluxe Chalets are detached in fact most are interconnecting.

The only real differance between Deluxe and Superior is that most of the Deluxe are on Jalan 1,2 or 3. at lot closer to the reception area. Superior are a lot higher up in the rain forest and can be quite a walk to main building. Although, resort shuttle buses run frequently.

Hope this helps. Enjoy your stay.

Berjaya Deluxe Chalets

Hi Kevin,

Thanks so much for that - I feel much happier now! I guess if you have stayed at Berjaya 5 times it must be ok!! We are really looking forward to our stay and to be closer to reception I think will be good with our three children. A few of the reviews say the pool area is really crowded - is it really that bad in July? Mind you we are usually up early so hopefully shouldn%26#39;t be too much of a problem.

Thanks for your help.

Suz

The usual thing at Berjaya is two rooms next to each other, not connecting via a door inside. Outside (frontdoor) is the access to the next room.

Post a thread to Steady, she knows the Berjaya very well.

Hi Suz

I was there late July last year and did not have a problem. You will always get the inconsiderate people who put their towels on the lounges early morning and then disappear for a few hours.

Dec/Jan seems to be the busiest time.

You have probably read in the forums about restaurants etc. The Seashell at the Mutiara just along the beach is worth a visit as is Telaga harbour about 10MR by Taxi.

We will be in Langkawi again in 2 weeks time. Can%26#39;t wait!!!

Regards

Kevin

We booked 2 standard ';superior'; rooms with interconnecting doors. berjaya messed up and put us in a roon interconnecting with the strangers next door and the kids room did not interconnect.

All deluxe rooms are not single/detached ones.

Our standard room was on Jalan 2 and only a 5 min walk from the main building.

Thanks all for your help. Kevin have a great time in two weeks!

Hi

When you book in at reception ask for a chalet with a connecting door and I am sure they will oblige. As someone else said, there is not much difference between the superior and delux chalets, only that the delux tend to be closer to the main hotel areas.

If the pool is too crowded why not head for the beach? Much more peaceful than sitting around the pool anyway.

I have also been to the Berjaya 5 times and am returning again in October so if you want any more info please ask.
