Datai Jetty

Hi All,

I notice on the maps there is a jetty on the north of the island near Datai. Does this serve any nearby islands or countries that can be visited in a day?

thanks to anyone who can assist

Datai Jetty

Any jetty along the north coast will only be used by local fishermen.

Can%26#39;t recall any near Datai Bay. As far as I am aware the only day trip to another country is the boat from Kuah Jetty which crosses over to Thailand.

The port in Thailand is about 7/8 miles from Satun (nearest town).

There is not much there, this route is used by locals, tourists heading north and expats doing a visa run.

The link above will give you an idea of the ferry times, if you opt to do a daytrip keep an eye on the return time, there is a one hour time difference between Malaysia and Thailand.

Koh Lipe also seems to be a possibility, but this seems to change from one month to the next. You%26#39;d be best to enquire with one of the local agents about this.

Datai Jetty

Perhaps there is a jetty at Kedah Cement Factory, this is on the north coast between Datai Bay and Tanjung Rhu.

There is a small jetty between the Datai and the Tanjung Rhu, quite near to the cement factory. It%26#39;s called Teluk Ewa Jetty.

As Alberts says it%26#39;s probably just used by the cement factory and local fishermen although I spoke to someone who went on a diving trip from ';a jetty close to the cement factory'; so can only think it would be this one.

Lesley

Thanks Lesley, I%26#39;ve never actually been in there to have a look around. The other possibility is that there is one at Pantai Pasir Hitam (Black Sand Beach). I think there is a fishing community there.

Yep! It%26#39;s a fishermans jetty.

There is another possibility to go to Koh Lipeh Thailand (in one day)

this is possible in between november and end of april.

You leave from Telaga Harbour the office is next to the Petronas.

It%26#39;s lovely to go to Ko Lipeh for snorkling and diving

Have a nice day
