Headaches on planning trip to malacca

I%26#39;m planning to have my holiday this week in malacca. There%26#39;s a lot of place i intend to go but i seems not very familar with those places although i%26#39;ve been going to malacca lots of time... Any body could help me on that?

I%26#39;ve plan to go Gadek Hot Spring, Night Safari, Maritme Musuem, Zoo Melaka, Crocodile Farm, Butterfly %26amp; Reptile Farm (if possible), Jonker Street, Temple, Stadhuys, and Pulau Ubeh.. I wonder i make the right decision since i%26#39;ll be there for 2 days only.

May i know what are the things that i can do in Gadek and anybody familar with Pulau Ubeh? I%26#39;m still figure out whether Pulau Ubeh is worth to visit.. Since it doesn%26#39;t shows too much details on the internet.. And how to go there and what%26#39;s the fare i need to paid? I also wonder is it Tg Kling / Tg Bidara / Pulau Besar is better if compared to Pulau Ubeh ??

If anybody could advise me i would be much appreciate.. because i haven%26#39;t make a proper plan on where to go.. the only thing i do is book a room in Mahkota... Haha... really headaches..

Any idea of some other nice place to visit?

Hi Elaine,

You can do most of sights within 2 days, afterall, Melaka%26#39;s places of interest are in close promixity among one another in Melaka town and Air Keroh.

Gadek Hot Spring is in Alor Gajah area, you can visit it on the way into Malacca or way out using Simpat Empat toll.

Night Safari is in the same venue as day zoo. I would recommend visiting day zoo than Night Safari unless you have free time in one of the nights if you have not been there before as you see more animals in the day time. It is along Air Keroh highway. Very worth a visit as it is the second largest zoo in Malaysia. Crocodile Farm is close to the zoo but skip it if you don%26#39;t have much time.

Take the boat from Shahbandar jetty next to tourism office in Studhuys (Dutch Square) to get to Pulau Upeh. People only go there to see turtles at night. You may not see many turtles though.

Since you have two days, I don%26#39;t recommend going to Pulau Besar or Tg Bidara as the beach is not that great. Stay and visit Melaka town or Air Keroh instead.

Jonker Street area has most attractions. Visit Baba House Museum, Malaqqa House on Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock. Then Cheng Ho Museum although admission fees are high.

For food, the night bazaar (Fri-Sun 6pm-12am) has great ambiance. Saturday is the busiest and has best ambiance, shop no. 88 opposite Geographer Cafe has the best food in Jonker Walk.

For chicken rice ball, go for Hoe Kee which always has people queuing at the restaurant entrance. Don%26#39;t go to Famosa Chicken Rice which is a tourist trap.

For Nyonya food, go for Ole Sayang in Melaka Raya or Peranakan Restaurant opposite Hotel Puri in Jln Tun Tan Cheng Lock.

There is cultural food village next to Mahkota Parade, probably go there Friday night. You can get good local food at decent prices with clean and nice ambiance.

Headaches on planning trip to malacca

Hi Alex, thanks for your information. Are you stay in Malacca? You seems to know Malacca so well. According to what you said I think I might have to cancel my trip to Upeh Island since the night time seems have many places to go and I found out there is certain schedule for departure to Upeh and back to Malacca town, if I really go there I think I might miss out a lot of place in town.

What do you think about the Ikan Bakar @ Muara Sg Duying Ujong Pasir? I heard from one of the friend and would like to taste it.

The cultural food village you mentioned is it opened on Saturday night? I only have one night – Saturday, to spend, so really headaches on where to go actually.

Know what, I’ve been thinking to taste again the Satay Celup in Jln Ong Kim Wee, the ikan bakar, “o-chien” @ bunga raya, “chendol @ somewhere in jonker” , nyoya food u mentioned, “hoe-kee chicken rice”….. really greedy ya?? Headaches again..

Anyway just want to confirm with you, is Bunga Raya inside Jonker Street ?
