malaria tablets-staying rasa ria --yes or no ??

We are off mid june to a week at the Shangri Las Rasa Ria in Borneo via Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. I%26#39;m now getting grief from my partner who has just had received a masta health brief advising we should take malarone as a precaution. I was of the opinion that because we are staying at a five star resort and will probably only venture out one day to Kota Kinabalu that the risk was very low as its not we%26#39;re like spending a week jungle treking. Malaria the report states is spread by mosquitoes that bite from dusk to dawn. Should i be concerned and is there a real risk?Question no.2 is is there any risk from contact with the orangutans?n ever since a had ';breakfast with the orangutan'; at the singapore zoo and she looked me in the eye before squeezing my leg as she blow me a kiss i%26#39;ve always fancied a trip to Borneo. My plans are probably to take in the 5 orangutans at the resort and not lose a day travelling to the santuary so is there any risks i should consider ??? the only precaution i had considered so far is no french kissing.

We%26#39;re from the UK and were advised to take Malaria tablets. On return v pleased we did as a friend%26#39;s mother caught malaria whilst in Borneo and she stayed at another 5 star hotel, although not sure where and whether she%26#39;d been treking. Also there weren%26#39;t really any mossi about but we did the night watch (briliant, highly recommend it) wher eyou sit in the jungle and watch for wildlife. There were tons of mossi%26#39;s about then so pleased we took the tablets. Think we paid about 拢60 each and same for my 9 year old daughter but was worth it for piece of mind!

When you see the o-tangs there are arround 8-10 metres away althoguh nothing stops then coming closer, they don%26#39;t. You aren%26#39;t allowed to talk or make any noise and you can watch them feed for as long as you like (30 mins ish). You do need to book for this and suggest you do when you first get there in case you want to go again later in your holiday. YOu can actually see the O-tangs if you go to the top floor of the jungle rooms and look over, we were ale to see them when they were about to be feed. Would have been better with binoculars though!
