Need to choose between Thailand and Singapore/Malaysia?!?!?

Hi,

I am planning a trip to Thailand-Malaysia-Singapore-Bali in August with my family.

However, I am worried that the time we have in hand might not be enough to visit all 3 places. We have 8-9 days.

So we %26#39;MAY%26#39; need to pick between Thailand / Malaysia %26amp; Singapore.

I need some advise on this.

We are looking at a relaxed holiday. Walk along the beach, going to the spa, maybe some golf, lounging around in some bar, some good food...along with the regular site seeing.

Pls advise which will be a better option.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers!!

HI, as one of your criteria in your selection amongst the three destinations, viz. ';walk along the beach'; (unquote), then drop Singapore, as it has no natural beach.

Then, as you have mentioned relax holiday with some golf-then we zoom in to Malaysia and Thailand.

Then in both these countries, where there is beach and golf-will be:-

Malaysia:- Langkawi - 3 golf courses

Thailand:- Phuket- around 5 golf courses, with the world famous-Blue Canyon.

Then we look at your preference of spa experience, then Phuket has more choices than in Langkawi, and food selections are better in Phuket.

However, Langkawi, will be more relaxed and nightlife is not so vibrant as in Phuket(though specifically in Patong).

As for value for money and service quality-Phuket notches better in respect of accommodation.

Phuket fits your criteria. Singapore does not, neither does Malaysia.

Avoid using the Patong area as a base. Check out the website for The Chedi, its beautiful. Easy access to Patong, 40 mins to Phuket Town.

Hi!

Thanks a lot for all the inputs. We are considering Singapore %26amp; Malaysia, mostly due to the fact that my sister may have some work coming up in Singapore.

What are the things one could do there? Also if anyone can help with hotels. Our budget is around $40-$50 per room per night. We are 4 adults, so we%26#39;ll need two rooms.

The age group are as follows:

My Parents - 55yrs both

My sister and Me - 27 and 25 yrs

My parents will mostly be interested in site seeing and a bit of relaxing so maybe the spa or a game at the golf course. Where as my sister and I would like to experience the night life, shopping, some adventure sports etc...

Does any one have any sugestion?

Thanks!!

Cheers...

Itinerary suggestion -

Singapore - KL - Pangkor.

Your initial post seem to indicate a relaxing, yet maybe slightly glamorous holiday, based on the locations and activities.

However, I am not sure what level of accomdoation you are looking at.

$40-50 per night (I assume US dollars?) won%26#39;t get you very good rooms today. In Singapore it won%26#39;t get you anything other than 2-3 star hotels. Here, at US 50 per room, this translates to RM175, probably gets you a 3-4 star hotel at most.

Just something to keep in mind.
